Project by Architecture students to construct a Hide and for Tolworth community

We are unit 5 masters students at Kingston university. We are fundraising to build an animal observation hide.

We need your help to create a space for conservationists, ecologists  and the local community to work and protect our beautiful green borough.

Why the hide is important?

Tolworth Court Farm Nature Reserve is biodiverse, relatively untouched and a sheltered wildlife haven.

Changing the perspective of a typical animal Hide

Typical bird hides have a reputation to only appeal to older generations. We would love to have an inspirational yet appropriate structure, that can encourage greater inclusivity and interest to broader sections of society, thus enabling us to engage with a wider audience to foster a sense of curiosity and value towards our natural heritage.

Who are you?

We are Unit 5 Masters Students at Kingston University. As architecture students, we are thrilled to be a part of enhancing this reserve and encouraging the community to engage with the natural world on their doorstep.

bringing community together

We are working alongside Citizen Zoo and Shedx who are local community group initiatives. We believe this animal hide will create an invaluable opportunity for local people, children and adults alike, to immerse themselves in nature and learn about the amazing biodiversity located in this hidden site. At the same time, it also provides a space for conservationists and ecologists to work to protect our beautiful and green borough. Your donation will help to educate the local borough about the nature itself.

all donations will go to materials needed to build the bird hide

£1000 - Timber beams

£750 - Straw bale

£1000 - Fixings, plumbing and tools

£ 250 - Contingency spending

Help us succeed!

Our goal is to reach £3,000. Your donation is important. For every pound you give, the university will match it. By making this successful we would be able to create a local space for conservation and observation .
