A film to bridge the generational divide

After the death of her anarchic best friend, a retired actress becomes the character she spent her life avoiding: the doting grandmother.

We are raising money to help fund our final year short film! This is our most ambitious project yet, and we are so excited to give it everything we have!

Our Goals:

Our project’s themes revolve around how older women are mistreated and undervalued in western society, which stems from how women are often valued only on beauty, youth, and their service to others. We also touch on how the media’s portrayal of older women mirrors that mistreatment and undervaluing back at us.

We hope the film will resonate to women of all ages, and draw attention to the parallels of womanhood at all its stages. We also hope it connects to a wider audience, who use this point of view to analyse how they view the older women in their lives

We are also using the project to connect to the community in and around Kingston, getting people of all ages involved in our project and bridging the gap between the older and the younger generations in Kingston.

Where will the money go?

Estimated breakdown of costs:

Location: 300

Casting: 300

Art Dept: 100

Extra equipment hire: 100

Catering: 100

Spill Over: 100

If we raise more than we need, we will reinvest the money into the areas of the community that helped this project succeed.
