All dogs go to heaven

Doing anything in London is expensive. Imagine making a movie in London.

What is Dog Stuff about?

Chandu and Farah, an Indian couple in London, lose their dog. Can the relationship grow through this grief?

Why am I doing this?

Dog Stuff is my dissertation project. I am directing the film and my team is on board to bring this story to life.

I got to home a dog when I was 16 years old even when my parents and grandparents were against it. I badly wanted a dog. Not knowing the responsibilities that come along with getting a dog, I did question my decision after Bruno was in my house peeing and pooping everywhere, even on the bed I sleep on.

But with time, Bruno and I got along, we became the best of friends, he was like the brother I never had. He taught me what true love is.

No matter what's happening in my life and no matter what I am doing, he is always there for me, looking after me and humping my leg.

Being in London, continents away, I miss him and I know for a fact he has no idea where I am and what I am doing. I wonder if he misses me, I hope he does! Dog Stuff came into existence because of my fear, my fear of losing Bruno. What would I do if I lose him?

Chandu and Farah are characters based off of me.

How can you help me?

Our production plans are quite simple because I don't wanna go over the top and make a sci-fi flick.

As a dog lover, I know almost everything important that happens to dogs and their owners is in their own houses. We make loads of memories on the living room couch, in the bedroom and every other part of the house.

All of the shooting of Dog Stuff happens in a house and we are going to find an Airbnb for it. This is where most of the money raised will go. Including the Airbnb, here are all of our other costs:

  • Venue hire (3 days): £2000
  • Cast and crew travel expenses: £200
  • Catering: £150
  • Props: £100
  • Costumes: £50

This is what I need from you. No matter what the size of the contribution is, this project needs you help.

My dream

I judge a movie or a TV show by its ability to make me cry. If a movie made me cry, that means it is great. If a TV show made me weep, that means the TV show did the job.

As a filmmaker I too want to make my audience cry. Every time I watch a movie related to dogs, I can't hold back, I cry and I love it. Movies like A Dog's Purpose, The Art of Racing in the Rain, Hachi: A Dog's Tale, Rescued by Ruby and a lot more have inspired me.

Dogs are man's best friend, Bruno made me realise it. Making Dog Stuff is the least I can do to Bruno, all the dogs and all the dog owners around the world.
