What if our beloved “immersive games” became a bit too immersive?

18-year-old Jessica Green misses her mother more than anything. When a mysterious game called CHARON arrives, it promises to bring her back, in return for her father…

About US

On paper, we are students of MA Filmmaking at Kingston University, trying to bring a project to life that we all truly believe in.

In real life, though, we all come from different backgrounds and cultures, and these small differences help us bring out the best in a project.

Our crew includes -

Writer and Director : Jack Whittick, is a lovely dad of two who always has two quirky ideas in his back pocket at any time.

Producer and DOP: Hsin-Tung Liu - Don’t go on her size, when it comes to managing stuff, she’ll manage your entire life.

Editor: Ishan Singh - He’ll edit his introduction later haha.

Why this film matters?

This film explores grief, isolation, and the seductive pull of escapism. Charon isn't just a game—it's a manifestation of Jessica's unresolved pain, exploiting her longing for what she's lost. Set in 2004, when technology was evolving yet still mysterious, the film blurs the lines between reality and illusion, creating a surreal, unsettling atmosphere.

By blending real-life footage with in-game capture, the film immerses the audience in Jessica's descent, highlighting the dangers of unprocessed grief and the consequences of losing oneself in fantasy. It's a story for anyone who has ever struggled to let go.

Where will the money go?

We're still students, and raising all the costs for this film is tough. This is where we need your help and a chance for you to join this project with us!

  • Pre-Production Costs (Actor expenses + Location) - 350 GBP
  • Production Costs (Travel, Logistics, Costume, HMU etc.) - 450 GBP
  • Any extra funds we raise will go towards helping this film get into film festivals and addition costs incurred by the crew.
