A short summary of your project
My project is inspired by Mono-ha Art, which is an art movement led by Korean and Japanese artists in the late 1960s. Mono-ha and Minimal art share similarities in style and history. Loving them both, I hold this point and try to reflect the idea of mono-ha art through minimalist womenswear in this project.
Who are you?
I’m Yeren Zhang, a master of Fashion Design from Kingston University.
Your story
The theme originated from Mono-ha Art. Its concept is to honestly show the essence and relevance of things, rather than imposing artificial concepts. I hope to provide another perspective in the current conceptual excess of clothing. I hope that the audience can see the clothes themselves, the characteristics of the materials themselves, the relationship between clothes and structures, and the dialogue between nature and man-made. This project is experimental and an exploration of my own style and methodology, so I try to make it better.
