Class of 2022, Congratulations!
It’s been a tough few years for you, but you have made it! You’ve overcome Covid disruptions, and now with increases in your cost-of-living, it has made you the most resilient ‘Class of’ we’ve seen!
You can celebrate your graduation by paying it forward to the next generation of Kingston students who are facing difficult times as well.
We've all known someone who's struggled while at uni, and we don't think it's fair that money should stop students from achieving their dreams. If we all come together, we can do something incredible for the students who'll come after you - with just £3 towards the Graduating Class Gift.
What is the Graduating Class Gift 2022?
Every year, the graduating year group make a small contribution (the price of a coffee!) to the Graduating Class Gift.
Recent Class Gifts have raised money towards a bursary for a student who has left care, two hardship grants and an emergency bursary for a PhD student who wouldn’t have been able to finish his cancer research without this support.
Because hundreds of previous students and family members gave just £3, some of your classmates have successfully been able to reach graduation when otherwise they would have had to drop out due to financial pressure. It’s amazing what we can do when we come together!
Where will the money go?
100% of the money raised will go to directly to students. This year, we are giving the Graduating Class Gift 2022 to the Student Hardship Fund, as the need is so urgent, and demand is rapidly increasing this year.
Half a degree isn’t worth anything, the Class Gift will stop students dropping out of university because they find they can no longer afford to study.
Your gift of £3 will be also matched by alumni donations, so it will be worth double to the Student Hardship Fund.
You will also get a special Kingston Alumni gift to thank you for your support. You can collect your keyring from the Kingston Alumni stand at the Town House reception on your day of graduation.
