Project Chimera - lets Ignite the Future with Hybrid Firepower!!

We’re raising £500 to bring Project Chimera to life. Our goal is to develop a groundbreaking 300N engine using Shape Memory Alloy Nozzle and custom 3D-printed fuel Grain, something that has potentially never been done to this extent before in aerospace engineering! Your support will help us take this innovation from concept to reality.

Who are we?

We’re a team of aerospace engineers specializing in the astro field. Our experience in propulsion systems and cutting-edge materials has driven us to create Project Chimera—a project that fuses new technologies and creative engineering. We've been tasked with designing this engine, and we’re excited to push the boundaries of what’s possible in space vehicle technology.

Our story

The idea for Project Chimera came from our work with Shape Memory Alloys and Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT). Inspired by the mythical creature Chimera, known for its ability to shift forms, we’ve created a hybrid engine that blends multiple innovative technologies, symbolizing that same versatility and power. This project is all about pushing what’s possible in aerospace.

What are we doing and why?

We’re developing a 300N engine that incorporates Shape Memory Alloy, a material never before used in such a project, and pairing it with custom 3D-printed fuel. These innovations could open doors for lighter, more adaptable space vehicles, paving the way for more efficient space travel. Your backing will help us achieve something truly cutting-edge in the aerospace industry.

Where will the money go?

We’re raising £500, which will cover the essential components for this project. Here's the approximate breakdown of how we’ll use your generous contributions:

  • Shape Memory Alloy: £250
  • Bulkhead: £50
  • 3D Printing: £50
  • Injector: £40
  • Torch Igniter: £60
  • Miscellaneous: £50

If we raise more than our target, we’ll put the extra funds towards advanced testing and additional prototype refinements.
