A physically disabled artist who loses the ability to paint faces a battle of the mind.

our project

"Art Girl" follows Naomi, a passionate young artist facing physical challenges that hinder her creative process. Supported by her warm but concerned mother and grounded best friend Emily, Naomi navigates the complexities of her art and personal life. A chance encounter with John, an artist painting with his mouth, inspires Naomi to reevaluate her own artistic journey. As she confronts internal and external obstacles, Naomi, with Emily's support, discovers new ways to express herself and creates a transformative piece of art. The film explores themes of resilience, friendship, and self-discovery, challenging societal perceptions of ability and disability.

Who we are And our story

My name is Michael Sharp, I am the director/writer of art girl. I have a type of muscular dystrophy and I'm aiming to provide a authentic portrayal of someone with a disability. By making this project I hope too create a cinematic experience and provide an opportunity for disabled people to star. I hope this film will be a unique story and provide everyone with refreshing take on disability.
