About the Film

Strangers is a love story told through dance. Set on the smoke-filled, crowded dance floors of 1970s London, the film follows the lives of Mila, a struggling store clerk, and Vincent, a free-spirited dancer. Their paths cross under glittering disco lights, and their connection grows as they move together in rhythm. But as their relationship deepens, we're left to wonder: is this love, or is it infatuation? Strangers explores themes of identity, passion, and freedom through dazzling choreography and a rich visual aesthetic. At its heart, it's a celebration of Black love—a narrative that remains underrepresented in film.

Why this Story Matters

Black love stories are often overlooked in mainstream cinema, especially ones that are joyful, sensual, and rooted in the everyday lives of Black people. Films like 'If Beale Street Could Talk' and 'The Photograph' have shown how powerful and resonant these stories can be. With Strangers, we want to continue this tradition, using dance as a universal language to tell a tale of connection and transformation. This isn't just a film about dance; it's a story about finding freedom on and off the dance floor.
