The Story behind The scarf
We want to make a film for all generations.
Our student short film "The Scarf (WT)" is a Coming of Age / Romance story with a comedic tone. The 21-year old University student, April, is given a scarf by her grandma to keep warm in the cold months of winter. We follow the scarf accompanying April on a date, breaking up, being left in a car, rescuing a puppy, being lost, being found, working as a flag on a fort of a little boy, being washed and finally finding its way back to April, who also needs to find her way back to herself.
Who are we?
Amber, Cristina, Haley, Lauren and Jelena!
We are five girls from the MA filmmaking at Kingston School of Art. We are all from different backgrounds and have been through different educations and experiences before we all met here. We are from America, England, Germany and Italy and want to create something together. If you want to find out more about us, you can check out our Instagram account : @scarfthemovie
Our Production
Making a short film is not something you do in a day, although some people would say you could! But we need time to prepare and plan, we need to cast for our roles, find locations, etc... Although all the members of our team, including the actors, will work for free, it will be impossible for us to achieve our goals without your help.
We wish to make a movie that can represent different people and also Kingston-upon-Thames as a beautiful community.
We will be mostly spending our money on the production of the film and advertising material, such as posters and postcards.
- Travel (trains & petrol): £200
- Food for Cast and Crew (4 days of filming): £200
- Costume and Props: £100
- Printing costs for Poster and Postcards: £100
