FSA - Football sponsor archive
I am raising £1000 to fund the production of my t-shirts, which accompany the FSA website I’ve designed. These t-shirts, along with the website, will be showcased at the graphic design final year show, "Unfold." The funding will also help launch the website and support interviews with various football communities.
Who am I?
I’m Sam Holliday, a final year graphic design student and football enthusiast. My passion for football’s cultural and commercial history has driven me to create FSA, a platform that celebrates the nostalgic significance of football sAhirt sponsors.
my story
This project explores the rich history of football in England examining the role of front shirt sponsors on football kits. It investigates how these sponsors have become a significant part of fan nostalgia and cultural identity, marking different eras in the sport. Given the consistency of club colours and design, sponsors stand out as a distinctive element, often being the only aspect that changes. Through historical analysis and collecting cultural commentary, I've redesigned sponsor logos, incorporating club history, chants, players, and events.
I'm producing a range of t-shirts featuring redesigned sponsor logos and launching a website to archive these designs and share fan stories. Fans' actual language, stories, and memories influence the outcomes and become the very elements that adorn the tops. By donating, you'll help bring this project to life, preserving these memories and celebrating football culture.
