Welcome to the crowdfunding page for Please Don't Touch! A short comedy drama that explores the hardships faced by artists in navigating modern life and the art scene.
As struggling young artists ourselves, we need your support to turn this project from a blank canvas into the gripping short film that it is!
Who WE ARE
We are an international group of students, from India, Norway and the UK, all passionate about giving young creatives a chance to showcase their art and talent.

As the project takes place in an art gallery, we will be working with young artists local to Kingston as an opportunity to showcase their work in the short film! Artists TBC
WHY this story matters
The cost-of-living crisis and constant funding cuts in the arts have severely changed the landscape for galleries and museums in the UK, and many artists are directly affected by this.
Recent studies show that on average visual artists in the UK earn just £12,500 a year, with painters earning considerably less. Many artists rely on other jobs within arts institutions to support their income, but even these can be precarious and often exploitative.
Our film brings these issues to the forefront, but it is also a celebration of young working artists at a time when creativity is limited and talent is being pushed out of the arts sector.
Where will the money go?
Your money will help make this film more dynamic and make the message more engaging within communities, and, of course, you will be directly supporting the artists involved.
Additional funds that we generate beyond our goal will all be put into the project to support the artists' wages and towards film festivals to get the final film seen by more people.
Crowdfunding budget breakdown:
- Cast: £400 (2 actors x 2 days)
- Travel/ Catering £100
- (Additional funds will go towards the cast & crew costs as well as the budget for film festivals)
PERKS
- £5 and up: You will receive a link to an early online premiere of the film
- £25 and up: Your name will be featured in the 'Special Thanks' section of the film's credits.
- £100 and up: All previous perks as well as a small original artwork!
- £250 and up: All previous perks, as well as a free day show reel session.
