A research-based project on the history of London's oldest football ground - The Old Spotted Dog

The OLD SPOTTED DOG

The Old Spotted Dog is a project which tells the story of the oldest stadium in London, and the two residing clubs in its extensive history: Clapton F.C. & Clapton Community F.C. (current owners).

Contextualised through interactive steel cards, various structures can be built by the reader as well as being informed on the modernist views of the club and their club manifesto.

The cards are stored in a publication with visual elements inspired by visual ephemera from the Bishopsgate Institute in London.

Who am i?

I am George Hellawell, a Graphic Design student at Kingston University. My personal interest in football alongside design has made this project one of my personal favourites, and made me even more excited to take this further into publicising. In collaboration with Bishopsgate Institute and trustees at Clapton Community F.C.

Where will the money go?

  • Funding will go towards resourcing materials to make multiple copies, 20 is the goal.
  • If the target fund of £1000 is reached, enough copies will be made to give to each C.C.F.C trustee.
