The power of women should not be ignored in any corner. Women can hold up half the sky.

A short summary of your project

My project focuses on the discrimination and stigmatization of women in online gaming. Why do most female players choose to play the position of team support? Why are male players assaulting female ones? Why are there fewer female players than male ones? Why do females feel less confident when playing?

Since childhood, in my free time, I have enjoyed playing computer games. As I grew up and became a feminist, I realized that there were many games that were unfair to women, and that even myself and most of my female friends around me were deeply involved in them.We don't know what kind of person sits on the other end of the screen that he would have so much malice towards a female stranger. No matter how good or bad your skills are, if you are a woman, they will always abuse you. I thought hard about why this issue has only come up in recent years, because before that men were very friendly to women in games, the opposite of what they are now. I finally realized that the reason they did this before was just from the perspective of a helper, they took it for granted that women weren't as skilled at gaming, so they showed a helpful side. As for why it's become this way now, it's simply because the realization that we surprisingly have the same, if not higher, competitiveness has given them a sense of crisis.

Who are you?

The director of the short film, Kharita, has been working with the international media Nowness for the past couple of years on solo short films. And the short films she worked on as a producer during her undergraduate studies have won many international awards and even a Cannes short film nomination. The crew members also have very mature film productions experience to ensure the quality of the film.

story

The story takes place in a time where AI is so advanced that everyone has their own personal AI assistant. The assistant will supervise the heroine's daily medication, which is beautifully described as a social requirement. But this medicine is meant to tame the women and make them uncomplaining to be degraded. One day this AI breaks down and the heroine doesn't take her medicine. But she sees the real world and hears real voices. She tries to fight back, but in the end she can only be judged as a witch.
