About Us
We are a passionate team of filmmakers from Kingston University, united by our love for storytelling and our drive to push creative boundaries. Our latest project offers a fresh twist on the noir genre, introducing the unique condition of fixed emotions—where a character wakes each day consumed by a single, uncontrollable feeling. Set in a shadowy, morally ambiguous world, the film explores how this mysterious affliction blurs the line between choice and compulsion, turning emotions into deadly motives. With its haunting atmosphere and innovative narrative, we aim to redefine noir for a modern audience while delving into the darkest corners of the human psyche.
Logline
After his father’s untimely death, a young man with a condition that binds him to one uncontrollable emotion per day is cast out of the family business by his father’s ruthless partner. Consumed by anger, sorrow, and desperation, he begins plotting the ultimate revenge—one murder, one emotion at a time.
Why This Film Matters
This film matters because it seeks to redefine the noir genre for a modern audience, bringing a fresh perspective to its timeless themes of morality, identity, and human nature. By introducing the unique concept of a protagonist bound to one uncontrollable emotion per day, we delve into the complexities of how emotions shape our choices, actions, and, ultimately, our fate.
In a world that often demands emotional control and detachment, our story confronts the chaos that erupts when feelings cannot be suppressed or ignored. It’s not just a tale of murder and revenge—it’s a deeply human exploration of how our emotions, whether fleeting or overpowering, can dictate the paths we take and the lines we cross.
With its innovative narrative and a reimagined noir aesthetic, we aim to spark a conversation about the hidden forces that drive us and challenge audiences to consider the balance between free will and the emotional impulses that define us. This is more than a genre piece; it’s a reflection of the emotional struggles we all face, told through the lens of a gripping, atmospheric story.
