ABOUT ME
I am a final year Fashion student KSA with previous internship exprerience at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Victoria Beckham and Ann Demeulemeester.
THE PROJECT
The notion of communication drives how I approach design, creating a distinct language through the style of garments I make. In today’s world, designers need to consider the vast amount of clothing being put out into the world and the impact this has on the environment, I want to create clothing that makes people rethink and challenge the way in which they wear and combine garments. Incorporating a new form of functionality with a modular approach to design, allowing the wearer to constantly evolve their visual expression within the same set of pieces, is a key focus of my final collection.
This final collection is compiled of six look fully finished looks including garment and accessories created by myself. In addition to this, I will also be producing a look book in collaboration with a former KSA Graphics student and photographer to showcase my creations.
Where will the money go?
Creating a final collection is the moment the BA Fashion course all leads up to. It's a really exciting time for us final years but it is also very expensive. The costs that come with maufacturing six runway-ready looks add up very quickly and outsourcing help such as a photographer and models all come at a price.
Here is a breakdown of what the money will help me fund:
- Toiling fabrics and trims : £150
- Final fabrics and leathers : £250
- Trims (buttons, shoulder pads,...) : £150
- Fit model costs : £100
- Lookbook printing and binding : £200
- Lookbook model : £100
- Photographer : £100
