Who Am I

My name is Oscar, and I study product and furniture at KSA. I'm trying to raise £1000 to help realise the Foil Bench, an original modular design that can be easily assembled and disassembled. It is mainly designed for galleries but can also be used in other commercial settings. Your donations will mainly help me afford the materials.

The story

This original piece of furniture is designed for galleries. It is modular and can be easily disassembled, as the structure is supported by worktop connectors. This feature makes it stand out from other gallery benches, as it means that the bench can adapt to the different requirements of the galleries. I believe that this idea is lacking in the current market. By donating, you will help me afford materials so I can better display my design at New Designers and LDF this year.

Materials - Wood

Min: £250 (half of a bench)

Max: £400 (full bench)

Materials - Metal

Min: £75 (half of a bench)

Max: £150 (full bench)

Materials - Components

Min: £50 (£22-worktop connectors, £6-metal bar, £22-small amount of experimentation)

Max: £200 (£48-Zipbolt worktop connectors, £12-metal bar, £100-T-section, £40-more experimentation)

Manufacturing

Min: £125 (university CNC machine and plasma cutter with cheaper materials)

Max £250 (CNC externally/more University CNC prototyping)

Extra Funds:

Extra funds will be spent on material testing, material delivery, wood finishes, and maybe even printing a promotional flyer
