Would you choose a perfect lie over an imperfect truth?

A short summary of your project

I'm raising £1,200 to create "FILTER" - a gripping 10-minute sci-fi drama about a young woman who tests AI glasses that promise to remove life's negativity, only to discover they're editing her reality in terrifying and unexpected ways. This film will challenge audiences to question our relationship with technology before we lose ourselves to the comfort of digital lies.

Who are you?

Hi, I’m Sarah Murtaza, an independent filmmaker passionate about stories that dig deep and speak truth. Filter is my next short film—a project shaped by my experience studying directing in Prague, making my own films, and working across creative roles. With this film, I want to push boundaries and spark conversation.

Why this story matters

We aim to create something honest, emotional, and real.  We're living through the most filtered era in human history. Instagram perfects our faces, algorithms curate our reality, and technology promises to solve every uncomfortable feeling. But what happens when we can filter out real human emotion entirely?

Filter isn't just science fiction - it's a warning about where we're heading. Through Kira's journey with experimental AI glasses, we explore what happens when technology decides what reality we should experience.

Our Story

As someone who's witnessed friends struggle with social media addiction and digital perfectionism, I've seen how our desire to avoid discomfort is fundamentally changing how we connect with each other. This story came from watching people choose digital comfort over authentic human experience.

Where will the money go?

Your support isn't just funding a film - you're backing a story that challenges one of the most pressing issues of our time. Every pound you contribute helps create a piece of art that might make someone think twice before choosing the filter over the truth. In a world where tech companies spend billions convincing us their solutions will make us happier, independent voices like ours are crucial. You're supporting authentic storytelling that asks the hard questions.
