A short summary
Core Type is a project that aims to blend the dynamic energy of skateboarding with the expressive power of typography. The installation features skate ramps that double as large-scale typographic sculptures, creating a unique space where skaters can interact with art in a physical and immersive way.
Who AM I?
I'm Emil Bell, a Graphic Design BA student at Kingston School of Art and skateboarding obsessive. I have enjoyed the opportunity to experiment with two passions of mine, skateboarding and typography.
my story
During my Final Major Project, I created Core Type, unique skate ramps that double as large-scale typographic sculptures. These installations merge the excitement of skateboarding with the creativity of graphic design, transforming urban spaces into interactive art pieces that celebrate both cultures. I have so far created the first letter, A but am now asking for donations to continue this passion project throughout the alphabet.
As a passionate skater and designer, this project combines my love for both disciplines. Skateboarding and typography are forms of self-expression and community building. By integrating them, we can create spaces that are fun, functional, and visually enriching, fostering a sense of belonging and creativity.
Your donation will help create vibrant public spaces that encourage interaction and engagement.
