Fundraising for BA Photography final year show in central London
BA Photography third year students are looking to raise £2500 in order to put on a fantastic show in central London in July. It will be an opportunity for our small course to have their work displayed in a central location to engage with the industry, and will be the springboard for our photographic careers after graduation. It will also crucially allow us to develop our experience in curation, business and the commercial arts world. We are really looking forward to the opportunity for our course to come together and work on a final year show, displaying our work from our time at Kingston in one place with pride.
Who are we?
We are a group of 20 third year BA Photography students at Kingston School of Art.
Our story
We want to show the strength in third year Photography and illustrate the level of work we are producing. This will be the first year that Photography will have a final year show, and we need help with funding to make this happen. We are a small course, and we have already been doing fundraising since the beginning of second year as we are all so desperate for this show to happen.
By donating, a donor will be allowing a smaller course to make their mark in the photographic landscape of London. It gives us a stepping stone for our careers and a chance to invite industry to the show and impress them with our professionally displayed work.
Where will the money go? If we hit our minimum, the spending will go towards the venue. If we hit our full target £1500 will go towards the venue, £500 towards final prints and catalogues for the show and the other £500 for refreshments on the opening evening for industry, friends and family. If we gain any extra funds, which would be fantastic, they would go towards frames and presentation for our work as well as some music. We will continue to give updates on our progress, with insights into the kind of work we are producing, work in progress prints and details about the venue and how we hope to curate it.
