THE WEIGHT OF WAITING

In a bleak corner of working-class Britain, Martha, a people pleasing disabled mother, is held hostage between a domineering husband and her own withered body. When left alone, she takes a devastating fall – now trapped on the floor, can she fight her way back up or once again crawl the path fate’s chosen for her?

About us:

We are a driven, dedicated crew of filmmakers from Kingston University, eager to produce our collective vision for this heartfelt story. Our project aims to embody the weight of hopelessness, alongside the quiet determination people display when every force seems aligned against them. Ultimately, we aspire to explore what it means to keep moving when the world feels unforgiving and resistant to change.

Why this film matters:

This film is important because it shows an untapped area of human struggle. Many people living with disabilities are confined to their homes. This limitation is not only physical but also places a significant psychological strain on the individual. These lived experiences deserve thoughtful and accurate representation in film, and in Martha’s Tuesday, this is on full display.
