Try Not to Go Back to Your Ex [Level Impossible]

Two former lovers, separated by time and ambition, confront the emotional distance that keeps them apart.

LIL' SUMMARY

Afterparty is a film that feels personal to everyone. We have all either been the one to sacrifice our dreams or give up the person we love, to fate. When Ann tries stepping back into her past by showing up at her ex's door after winning her dream award, she is faced by a version of him she doesn't recognise anymore. A failed attempt at bringing him back into her life and an awkward encounter with his wife, she learns to find herself in her wins.

Who EVEN AM I?

Hello! I'm Aaryama! an MA Filmmaking student at Kingston University! The summary above has been my reality. This film is inspired by true events and real conversations.

THE BACKSTORY

The script comes from a similar experience in my life, where rather than uplifting myself and acknowledging my growth, I decided to revisit a relationship which had shaped my passion for filmmaking. Separation hit like hell, going back to it hit harder. The last conversation I had with him was a punch in the gut, where I realised I was chasing something that was never going to exist again.

Upon talking with people, I realised this is an experience almost every passionate person experiences, where they're faced with choosing either love or their dreams. The winner cannot have it all. In fact, there are no winners in this.
