This project received pledges on Mon 28 Mar 2022
Gathering funds for KURE's National Rocketry Championship Group Project.

our project

We are raising £500 for the National Rocketry Championship. The goal of this project is to design, build and launch a mid-power rocket with the primary goal of reaching the greatest altitude possible.

A secondary goal is to help teach group members important areas of a design and build process as well as to put their engineering skills to the test.

Throughout all this we are aiming to achieve a great standing in the competition (1st hopefully) to prove the excellent teaching provided to us at Kingston University.

Who we are

We are a group of students from the Roehampton Vale Engineering Campus who share a common interest in Space and Rocketry.

Kingston University Rocket Engineering (KURE) is a student-led engineering society situated at Kingston University in London which has been setup to help likeminded students come together and work on space related projects. As a society we participate in a lot of competitions and extra curricular activities, to find out more follow the links in the below.

our story

This project is handled entirely by students for students and is an excellent measure of how people fare when asked to put theoretical skills into practice without the benefit of further instruction. This is crucial to us because it allows us to put the knowledge we learned at university into practice and letting students stand on there own two feet.

Any donations will have a significant impact because they will contribute to the total funding of the rocket, which will be used to teach the team how to follow industry standard manufacturing and project management practices.

Where will the money go?

The more money raised, the more we can learn and explore, with any funds raised over the target going toward teaching the team about other processes and methods that we would not have been able to cover otherwise. As a result, there is no minimum because everything we get will be used on the rocket and during testing.

We intend to publish bi-weekly updates on the overall development of the project which you can find on our LinkedIn below,

Images and videos will be uploaded as the project progresses, so stay tuned for those!
