Final year fashion collection inspired by the relationship of queer identities and sportswear

My project

A Graduate Fashion collection that explores the relationship between queer identities and sportswear clothing. Locker rooms are one of the first places where I discovered my own sexuality. This collection represents the way in which I see sports and tries to push the boundaries of traditional views of masculinity.

Who Am i?

I am a final year fashion design student working on my final collection. I have always felt fascinated about sportswear clothing and its role in the construction of masculinity and sexuality. My work is inspired by artists like Slava Mogutin, Peter de potter, Will Mcbride and Bruce Webber amongst others.

I am originally from Spain, I have been living in the UK for the last 7 years. My aim is to have my own brand in the near future.

Where will the money go?

If I hit my minimum it will help me cover some of the money I have spent this year. The cost of fabrics for my final collection has been quite high and it would help me immensely to recover some of it, so I can think about starting my own brand or study a masters degree.

Breakdown for my final collection

  • Lookbook: £450
  • Fabrics and trims final collection: £1500
  • Models: £260
  • Sewing machine, pattern cutting table:£700
