A short summary of your projectWe are a group of 11 Kingston University Filmmaking students making our final year graduation film.
In the restaurant Memoirs, the past isn’t only a piece of distant knowledge, it can be revisited, though only in a way which is random and unpredictable. Rediscovering a lost moment or indulging in simple nostalgia, it’s all just a meal away.
However, it relies on the courage of the customers to potentially relive something they wouldn’t expect.
The story
Louis Brooks, returns to the restaurant Memoirs in search of a memory he aims to relive.
His first course begins and he is transported back to his teenage years, more specifically, the age of seventeen.
In this first memory, Louis is with his friends from High School, enjoying a night together while the parents are away.
It is undeniably a good memory.
Still, unsatisfied with not reaching his goal, Louis digs into his second course.
One which he attempts to change after the first bite, having recognised the memory. The waiter explains that the restaurant holds a no waste policy, forcing him to finish it.
Louis witnesses the memory of the beginning and end of his relationship with a girl named Emma, whom he’s developed to love despite her telling him she is forced to move away. He must then make a crucial choice, waste the food and get banned from the restaurant, or relive a painful chapter of his life to reach his goal.
