A short summary of MY project

I'm hoping to raise this money as my budget for my Graduation Shortfilm. This documentary film project is a very personal and intimate take on a question that most of us might have asked ourselves at some point in our lives. How can we live meaningfully? This film aims to explore that topic from two perspectives, philosophy and life experience. I will be undertaking a two-day hike with my mother during which I hope to spark a conversation between us and how can we live life meaningfully. To me, that answer comes from philosophy, mainly Stoicism, as well as authors such as Viktor E. Frankl, Friedrich Nietzsche, Robert Greene and even Andrei Tarkovsky. As for my mother... that's what I intend to find out!

Who AM I?

Hi! I'm Marcin. I'm a third-year Filmmaking student from Poland who loves this craft, but not only that, I am passionate about philosophy and exploring deep topics such as the one presented in this film

MY story

Through this project, I wish not only to challenge myself to create something difficult, something I have never done before, but also provide you, the audience, my personal take and thoughts on a topic as convoluted such as this one. How to live life meaningfully? Perhaps there is no definitive answer, but I strongly believe there are certain key ideas that can help anyone to enjoy life more!

As this project is quite complex, I need your help to bring it to fruition. I want to bring value to the audience, to you, the donor. A project such as this will also help me personally, I want to challenge my abilities, notions and thoughts in this documentary and capture every bit of it, hence my need for the technical aspect which involves this budget!

Where will the money go?

• My main costs involve sound equipment, travel and logistics expenses such as fuel and camping equipment.
• If I'm able to reach the full target, it will help me tremendously in covering other travel expenses such as flights to my hometown, storage drives for the footage and any contingencies I may need, as well as a budget for film festivals!
• If the funds run over the target I will allocate more towards film festivals as well as covering expenses that I have not included in the budget, such as food.
